Recipe ~ Berry Bake Bites

This recipe can be made with whatever ingredients you want and variety is best. This is just an example of one of the yummy meals my parrots receive, feel free to vary your berries, grains etc. as much as you want

In this dish I used brown rice, pasta, red lentils, couscous, apple, blackberries, strawberries, grapes, almond flakes, walnuts, cayenne pepper and crushed chillis

Firstly, you need an oven safe dish. Place all of your grains in and mix

brown rice, pasta, red lentils and couscous
Now you need to cut up your berries, fruit and get your nuts ready. Throw them all in

strawberries, blackberries, almond flakes and walnuts added

plus the grapes and apple
Fill your kettle right to the top and boil. Fill your dish with the water until it is all covered and submerged. Sprinkle in the cayenne pepper and crushed chillis

it smells amazing at this point!
Set your oven to gas mark 6. Cook for at least one hour. If the water isn't absorbed by then then continue to cook until you think it is done

looks great doesn't it?
The finished dish should look good enough to eat yourself. Give it a good mix through as most of the apple etc. would have floated to the top and would stay there as the water was absorbed. Your grains should have a fluffy texture

perfect for all psittacines
So there you have it! I hope you making and your birds enjoy eating the recipe, I know mine love it. We would love to hear what your birds thought of this
